Gopi has been in sales for over four decades, and that gave him an opportunity to interact with thousands of people. During his career with Metlife, he trained several Agents in his capacity as a Manager.
During the last twenty years Gopi has been a Mortgage Broker, and currently working with Guaranteed Rate as a Vice President, Mortgage Lending. Do You Really Need To Outsource Your Happiness? Why Are You Outsourcing Your Happiness?
Do you know why maximum people can’t be happy by themselves?
This is the toughest challenge humanity is facing today. The whole world appears to be confused about the nature of happiness and where to look for it.
We look forward to our immediate family members including spouse, friends, colleagues, and even our own boss to make us happy.
The danger of outsourcing our happiness lies in delayed delivery, misspelled label like “unhappiness” instead of happiness. Most of those deliveries have another common problem: Return Address not provided.
While happiness and unhappiness could be influenced by external forces but the true joy that you feel internally may not be influenced by external forces. You have to find it by yourself.
Next time instead of eating a sumptuous lunch, give it to another hungry person who has not eaten for several days, and feel the inner joy of making him happy. This is not temporary.
There is a Fountain of Lasting Happiness. It is called the Practice of Gratitude! When you practice gratitude, you always find inner joy.
If you are truly looking for lasting happiness which is called inner joy, look no further. Practice gratitude and find your own Fountain of Happiness!
Do You Love Yourself Enough?
Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to, “love thy neighbor as thyself!”
We put emphasis on, “thy neighbor” and forget the most important part, “thyself.”
There is a spiritual meaning behind this commandment. You have to soak yourself with self-love. Self-love does not mean that you are going to the extreme to be a narcissist.
You appreciate, respect, and understand yourself and are compassionate and kind to yourself. All these qualities you must cultivate within you before you can pass it on to your neighbor.
If you want to love your neighbors, you have to have the different aspects of love in you before you can give it out.
Ask these questions: Do I respect myself? Do I appreciate myself? Do I care about my body and my mind? Do I give myself a pat on the back at times?
If you think you do not love yourself enough, there is a simple practice you can start to love yourself adequately: you can start practicing gratitude!
Gratitude opens immense possibilities to maximize your potential. If you can practice this one commandment Lord Jesus prescribed for mankind, you need not to go to any place of worship anymore!
The question is WILL YOU DO IT?
Will you at least try to practice it in everyday life?
Do You Want to Reverse Your Habits?
Any psychiatrist will attest to the fact that it is quite difficult to get our brain out of an addiction.
When you keep expressing anger, fear, grief, jealousy, and rage your brain creates new neurons, and you get addicted to those negative habits based on the science of neuroplasticity.
Every time you get angry, you are programming the brain and the body gets addicted to it, and you become a victim of your own thoughts, speech and actions.
But there is a simple and very effective way to reverse those harmful negative habits if you are serious about reversing them.
It is nothing other than the practice of gratitude.
Gratitude erases the negative tendencies that converge to form negative emotions.
When you practice gratitude, you are counting your blessings, and you anchor your mind to the Power of Now. Ultimately you are not reacting or reliving the past experience and your tendency to fly into the future to embrace imaginary fears will be drastically diminished.
Do not expect miracles in the first few weeks as you have these negative emotions embedded in the bottom plate of your subconscious mind. But practice it regularly for at least 90 days, and then you can see the changes taking place in you.
Practice gratitude to remove the negative habits formed in you. Try it and you will immensely benefit from the practice!
The Root of Unhappiness
The whole world wants to hear new secrets of happiness! Happiness is sold like snake oil in the global happiness markets.
People are still unhappy. So I decided to examine the root cause of unhappiness that we need to reduce, if not totally eliminate.
In order to reach the source of unhappiness, I wanted to identify the markers of unhappiness.
There are three fundamental markers of unhappiness! They are negative thoughts, negative speech, and negative action.
If you are thinking negatively, speaking negatively, and acting negatively, it is absurd to think that you will get positive outcomes and positive emotions.
You must remind yourself that if you want to be happy but you keep making others unhappy then it is simply impossible.
First of all think happy, speak happy, and act happy to be happy!
There is a simple practice you can start to avoid the secret of unhappiness. It is called the Practice of Gratitude!
Gratitude is the giver of contentment, as it anchors you to the present. In the present there is only joy because you are experiencing it. Only the present is real and therefore it is called eternal.
Unhappiness will not haunt you in the present. Start living in the present, and say good bye to the painful past, and the imaginary future who are the parents of unhappiness!
How to Get Out of a Bad Mood?
Almost all of us find ourselves in a bad mood sometime or the other! It happens when you least expect it.
When it happens take the following steps:
- Immediately change the scene. If you are in the kitchen move to the living room or dining area. Shifting place is very effective to change your mood.
- Go to the bathroom and splash cold water onto your face at least three times. It will activate your Vagus nerve, the healing nerve in the body.
- Take a piece of paper and write down three things for which you are grateful to your mother. At this time mother is the best person to feel thankful for.
- If none of these works (which I doubt) take a hot and cold shower.
You cannot look for a fire extinguisher when the house is on fire. You will keep it ready in the house in a corner just in case.
The same way with these techniques, keep them handy to get out of a bad mood who appears in our mind as a creep when we least expect it!
